India’s electoral cycle is virtually continuous; rarely does a moment pass when some part of the country is not engaged in an election. This study focuses on the upcoming state elections in Bihar, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Kerala, Assam, and Puducherry, scheduled for 2025–26. Each of these states presents a distinct political landscape shaped by unique local dynamics and socio-economic issues. These elections hold particular significance as they follow closely on the heels of the general polls, reflecting how the post-election momentum, especially the nationwide Narendra Modi wave, may influence regional political outcomes.
