Sobia Paracha – Non Resident Scholar


Sobia is a graduate of Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad and King’s College London. Before joining IPRI, she was a visiting Carnegie fellow at New America Foundation, Washington DC. She has also been a visiting fellow at the Center for International Trade and Security, University of Georgia and Sandia National Labs, New Mexico.

She has attended a number of international trainings related to Nuclear weapons and nonproliferation including- nuclear weapons disarmament simulation at Norwegian Institute for Energy Technology and IAEA nonproliferation safeguards at Brookhaven National Labs, New York.

She has previously worked with the South Asian Strategic Stability Institute and Strategic Vision Institute Islamabad as a Research Fellow.

Her major research assignments have been related to the strategic technologies’ role in South Asian politics with an emphasis over nuclear and space programs of India and Pakistan.
